Leading Through the Seasons of Life
There are so many passages in the Bible that speak mercy and grace to humanity and give us hope to move forward in our lives.
I am so thankful for God’s word that has equipped us to be what He wants us to be.
His word that establishes our leadership based on our ability to serve others.
Sprinkled within all the hope and grace occasionally a tragic scripture arises, at least on the surface it appears that way.
I believe these words are there by God’s design to cause us to look inside our hearts and evaluate our own personal relationship with the Father.
One such passage that arises from time to time as I read through the Bible is found in the book of Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 8:20 NIV
“The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved.”
The Message Bible renders it this way.
Jeremiah 8:20 Message
The crops are in, the summer is over, but for us nothing’s changed. We’re still waiting to be rescued.
This passage reminds me that our life and our relationship with God is an ongoing process. We go through many seasons of life and if we are truthful we wonder where God is at sometimes.
I can assure you that Jesus is always there. When we read these passages they must quicken us to evaluate ourselves and then move forward in the grace and mercy that Christ has provided.
Being honest with ourselves and with those around us will establish us as the leaders that we have been called to be.
